  • Guy Extensions??

    Today, I had a mission...
To bring Daron to do hair extensions.

Is your face like this --> ??

Momsy had the same reaction. I SMSed her to tell her I left the house and I'm bringing Daron for hair extensions.

    She called me.

    Momsy: Don't lie to me.

Me: Eh? Not even a 'hello'?? Where did all the manners you taught me go?

    Momsy: To you!!

Me: Bah! Anyways, I am really bringing Daron for hair extensions. Why would I lie? If I wanted to lie, I would say something more believable right??

Anyways, we went to eat Pasta Mania again!

    Meet my new love!!!

    !!!!!!!

After a hearty lunch, we walked around to look for an appropriate shop.

Somewhere not too crowded....I mean, a guy doing hair extensions?? It might attract a lot of unwanted attention.

Daron and I decided to try something out for fun.

Me: We go inside the shop and see who they attend to, okay?

Daron: Duh, it will be you!

Me: You talk to them first!! Like, you are the customer.

I knew it was going to be quite funny. I couldn't wait!!

We entered this rather secluded shop together. And we, . Then this beautician came up and greeted us.

    Beautician: Hello. Here for extensions?

    Me: (completely silent)

Daron: Yea. Could I see the colours please?

Beautician: (comes toward me) Please follow me.

    Daron & I: .... HAHAHAHAHA!!

    Daron: See??

Me: I'm sorry. HE is the customer. Not me.

    Beautician: Him?!

    Me: Yup.

Something you don't see everyday, huh?

Anyways, here is the range. I'm actually thinking of getting some wavy ones myself; I'm growing a little bored of my straight hair.

    And...Ta-Da! The colour Daron chose.

After knowing how she attaches them on, I begged him not to let the guys remove it for him.

Daron: Yea, I'll ask Shaun. Then he'll go, "Snip! Oh, shit.". Then I'll go, "Shaun, I'm going to kill you."

    Me: Please ask a girl.

It seems easy, but once done wrongly....Oh wells. It is quite okay for Daron. Even if a bit of his hair is cut off, no biggie.

The beautifician was really swift with her fingers.

    Pure power.

Never a moment not suited for some camwhoring.

    Finished!!

    Le Masterpiece!!!

    Bwahaha!

After all that, Daron and I went seperate ways. I popped over to Sim Lim Square to do something really important.

    See this old tape?

Wells, hardly anyone uses it anymore.

Momsy just found it and it means a whole lot to me.

I'm going to treasure every single bit I manage to dig up!!

So I went to get it converted into a DVD!!!

And I must say, it was rather cheap!

Then Momsy and Uncle Joseph came.

Uncle Joseph's weird combination of Strawberry ice cream with pineapple toppings.

Oh wells, to each his own!

I'm feeling something extraordinary; something I never planned.
    Something I least expected.

Seems like fate & reality have both come knocking at the door of my heart.

We'll see where they take me.

  • My New Love!

I found something new that I love!
    Something I absolutely adore!!!
Something I simply must must MUST go back for more!!!

    That is.....
    VONGOLE!!! In homemade broth.

Okay, so far...I only find the Pasta Mania one satisfactory.
I know many people do not think that Pasta Mania's pastas are very fantastic, but it is the only place that serves Vongole in homemade broth! Other places serve it in cream sauce or something. I don't like!

I love it sooo much, I pulled Nien Ting to go eat it with me at VivoCity before her classes start.

    Yes, I look disgusting. Bah.

Poor Nien Ting has to keep on eating at Pasta Mania with me, because I always have the craving.

Look at the stuff she got for me!!

I had been buying loads of stuff from that place since. I simply adore the packaging! And, the stuff are not half bad! Some things are simply wonderful.

I think I just found a new shop I want to get the membership card for!

  • Mystery Eater

    We were spies!!

Anyways, before I left the house...Mommy said, "You look like a farm girl!!!" Bah. I think because I dreamt of being a farmer the night before. Hehe!!

I was sent undercover....To search for information, raw in action!

Alrights. Enough of all the blabbering.

Okay, what happened was....5 yee's friend wants some reviews on her restaurants. So as a favour (and also the free meal), I went as an undercover reviewer! And since it was Hong Kong food, I brought my dear Lily along!

Both of us met up really late. As usual.

The thing I like about going out with her is....We're always late.

So I don't feel guilty or anything. Bah.

Anyhow, I chose to do the review at the Takashimaya outlet.

We walked up to the entrance. I stood there, browsing through the menu.

We waited for someone to attend to us. Apparently, those waitresses were busy inside chatting away.

    Review #1:
The staff are not alert to customers at the door.

When one finally came out, she gave me a black face. Like, bah, did I steal her husband or something? Or she showered her face in charcoal? Because it really shows!

    Review #2:
The waitress doesn't make us feel welcome.

Next thing, Lily and I were brought to a rather bad seat. We were cramped in between two tables, even though there were other empty seats.

Me: Excuse me, I would like to switch our seat to over there please.

I even smiled! Bah! She gave me that you-stole-my-husband-charcoal-showered black face again!!! How dare she?!

When we got to our next seat, Lily tried to make herself feel better I think.

Lily: Oh look! We got a window seat!!

We were just seated next to the glass panel.

Suddenly, two waitresses came over. One China national, another Singaporean. They literally fought over the table. I was quite... yes, shocked. I mean, do they earn according to comission?? Bah.

The China national gave the Singaporean waitress a nasty glare. I was so tempted to be patriotic for a moment and do something for a fellow Singaporean!

Anyhow, the Singaporean waitress just withdrew and walked away.

The China national gave me a grim smile and offered to take my order.

Me: Do you know if you have any ongoing promotions?

She: 天啊!她讲英文啊!我不会讲英文!你回来此后她!(Heavens! She is speaking English! I don't know how to speak English! You come back and attend to her!)

Geez. I got even more annoyed.

First, she doesn't know how to speak basic English. Second, she obviously doesn't possess any proper service skills!!

Seriously, it is one thing to be back in your country doing this. And another thing doing this in my country!!! Not that I have anything against China nationals. But if they don't know how to live up to a proper kind of standard, please don't try to tarnish our reputation with tourists.

I mean, what if I were a tourist?? I would be downright disgusted!!

This waitress doesn't speak decent English. And she goes around exclaiming her incompetence like as if the world owed her a living. Bah. How annoying.

    Review #3:
China national waitress doesn't possess proper English nor etiquette skills.

The Singaporean waitress came back and served us. I was very happy with her! Not that I am bias toward my own country!! Seriously, she was very friendly and sweet. At least it sort of made up for the previous turn-off.

    Review #4:
Singaporean waitress very knowledgeable about the menu & is polite.

Later on, the supervisor brought our utensils over.

She literally said out in almost a scolding tone, “面谁吃的?!” (Who is eating noodles?!)

Bah. I was literally very disgusted.

Lily: Why do I feel like I'm getting scolded for eating noodles?

    Review #5:
    Supervisor doesn't have basic mannerism.

Anyways, look at the delights we ordered!!

    One of my top favourites!

    Thousand layer toufu!!

    Rice rolls?

    White sauce cheese baked rice!

    Mango sago desert!

    And...the bill.

Which usually makes people quite upset. Especially with such horrid service. But I was doing a job! So therefore, I would be reimbursed. Not so bad.

As I called for the bill, the supervisor serviced me. I wasn't very sure of her name, and I had to include it in my report.

Me: Sorry, who is the supervisor today?

    She: Me! Me!

Like as if she has anything to be proud of. That loser.

Then I guess her little brain managed to gather some hints together. She sort of suspected something.

    She: Wait, you are.....

    Me: Nobody. Bye.

Then as Lily and I sauntered our way out of the restaurant, I walked past her whilst she was talking to another waitress.

She: Oh no!! They really sent people over! And it was them!!!

Ha! I almost felt a sadistic smirk on my face.

I don't know if it was because of the horrid service, my eyes hurt a whole lot.

We walked over to Ion for a little browsing. And I really couldn't take the pain in my eye! So we went to the toilet where I tried to fix my contacts.

Lily had the courtesy to take pictures of the process.

    Bah! But it still hurt.

I think because of the new solution I soak my contacts in. Not working for me!

Anyhow, I do like Ion! Very grand and classic.

Though the washrooms are a tad troublesome to go to.

    And the interactive directory!

I didn't see Lily for a super long time. I seriously missed her.

Here, we tried to take picture at the same time together.

This is why a proper digital camera is always better than a camera phone.

These shots were already taken in night mode, with flash!!

And Lily took pictures of me dancing.

She likes this because she felt it was soo...Hmm, wind in my hair thingy. Bah.

We went for long walks around town. Chatting and catching up on lost times.

We went to shops to shop! Wells, duh. We stopped by O2 Skin, and their crazy cheap sale!

I bought till I got the membership. I was quite determined to get it! Hehe. Though I was quite bummed when it was just a paper card, with stamps on it.

No dinner for us, because we ate our lunch at 4.30....

We did have a night snack though!

I used to think this place was something unique. But then, somehow the ambience just felt cheap and old.

Guess it is the maintainence problem.

There is dear Lily SMSing her baby!

There I was looking through loads of advertisements.

    Supper delight!

Thanks to Lily for accompanying me to 'work'! Hehe!

I had loads of fun spending time with her!!

We should really go out more often! Heh.

    Alrites. I'm tired from 'work'.

  • Burger Challenge

We are all Singaporeans. Singaporeans love free stuff.

What is better than having a free meal??

After piano lesson, I went down to City Hall to meet Shaun, Daron, Marcus & Mark.

They told me they were going to eat at NewYork NewYork!! I was quite looking forward to it. I waited outside for Shaun, who apparently didn't recognise me.... He said he didn't see me ever since I got rid of my bangs.

Anyways, check out the NewYork NewYork challenge!!

    That platter is worth about....$40?
If you can eat up the whole platter in 1 hour, it's on the house!

    Sounds easy?

Not when you see the platter.

I even took it in comparison to a normal plate of food.

Scary, huh?! And it is literally a SEA of fries.

    Freakish.

Actually, it is not the burger that kills you...In fact, the burger is downright delicious. The fries? Gosh. They make you sick!!

Here is Daron having his go and the challenge.

In the end, he gave up... Oh wells, no biggie! Still love you, big guy!!

I did something with the ketchup to cheer him up!!

And Daron hangs the white flag!

Then Shaun said he'll treat us to the meal.
    Aww. Such a sweet guy.

We went for a little walking around, went for a drink.

    Kimbell joined us.

Then we watched The Proposal!! I was sooo happy, I was literally dying to watch the show!

    Witty & utterly hilarious.

The chemistry between the two lovers was very dynamic.

Storyline was predictable, somewhat. Yet, still kept you at the edge of your seat!!

    Hehe! Rather fun day.

Here is wishing Daron is a pleasant trip over to UK!!

  • Hello, I am Miss Sim.

    Boy, I'm bushed!

Last night I came back so late from grandpa's birthday dinner....And I had to drag my corpse out of bed early in the morning to get to work.

Good thing was, it was my last day there! Or at least for now....

I won't say I don't like teaching those little bundles of trouble + love, but they sometimes can really....ROAR!!

Before the little children came flooding in, I wrote the day of the week.

Friday!! Yes! Okay, I know it is a tad faded.....it is just the picture quality. I assure you it was visible in real life.

The children attending Chinese class! Which obviously I won't be teaching.... My Chinese is decent & all, but not for teaching!

Then I went to mark their homework.

Easy work. Afterall, they are just Nursery 2!

I brought the children to wash their hands before their snack...and one of them splashed water all over himself.

Doesn't it remind you of some village clothes hanger? Hehe!

    And...I look plain retarded.

We brought the children downstairs for outdoor playtime!

    Meet Miles!

    Utterly adorable, don't you think??

Geez, I am so bias. I can never be a full-time teacher.

There is 6 yee with the children!

Playtime, even though seems like the most joyous time...but is also almost the most tiring.

Having to watch over so many of them running around!
Bah, my eyes almost went sore.

Anyways, I did enjoy teaching those little monsters. Even though I told Momsy that I didn't....I didn't want her to always want me to work there. Just don't like it. Unreasonable? Hehe.

    Okays, let me rest now!

Mirror, Mirror

Make-up, lashes.
Pout those lips.
Fashion or disaster,
it's all a trick.
Hair styled, mood swayed.
Let thy body portray.
Someone written on paper,
someone described through words.
Close my eyes for a prayer,
have to preserve my own.
Camera, lights, action.
"You're on."
No time for pauses,
no space for flaws.
Wait'll I sing the chorus,
hold your applause.
Another world, another life.
Another girl, another jive.
Curtains down,
show's over.
Goodbye,
hear my sweet lullaby.
